The population of Spurlockville is approximately 100 people. The community is primarily rural and is surrounded by mountains and forests, making it an attractive destination for outdoor recreation such as hunting, fishing and hiking. In terms of infrastructure and amenities, Spurlockville is served by the Hamlin Post Office, which is located about 10 miles away from the community.
